Hello! Thanks for being here, there and everywhere.

I’m Jack, a 30-something-year-old living on Wurundjeri land.

  • I find it weird when I hear my name. I assume it means I’m in trouble. So not being referred to is fine with me. Or, if you really do want to refer to me, I like my initials (JB).

  • I wear hats, literally and figuratively - former journalist, comms guy, meditation teacher, psychology student, hockey coach, average swimmer, amateur photographer, et cetera.

  • “Writer” is a hat I have worn from a young age, but I’ve pushed it to the back of the wardrobe a few times. I’m trying not to do that anymore.

So, on one hand, this newsletter is for me.

Writing is the best way for me to sift through my experiences and my thoughts, which come at double speed. To borrow a line from the comedy doyens Lano and Woodley, this newsletter is about all the things I do and all the things I see. Or, more precisely, how I choose to do them and how I choose to see them.

And on the other, it’s for you. Words can connect us, and I hope there’s some usefulness in my reflections for others.

Feel free to join me for the ride.

I have no idea where we’re going, but I hope there will be a bit of chaos en route.
